Frank Gehry, the bold voice of contemporary architecture, has fallen silent.

Frank Gehry, the renowned Canadian-American architect whose works such as the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles earned him global acclaim, passed away on December 5, 2025, at his home in Santa Monica at the age of 96, following a short respiratory illness.

Born on February 28, 1929, in Toronto, Gehry later migrated to the United States.
His distinctive style — a fusion of free forms, sweeping curves, and an artistic approach to architecture — dissolved the boundaries between art and structure, turning many of his buildings into city landmarks.

Receiving prestigious awards such as the Pritzker Prize and redefining the limits of creativity in architectural design are only part of his legacy.
Gehry may be gone, but his buildings and his bold vision will continue to inspire architects and lovers of architecture for generations to come.
